Happy Holidays! This is a picture of the handmade card we sent out several years back. Yes, there was one year where we actually got it together enough to sent out Holiday cards...by New Year's... This is about as far as we'll get this year. We say handmade because both the lovely illustration and the writing are potato prints--can you read that?? What's a potato print you ask? Its when you use a potato as a sort of rubber stamp--you cut a potato in half you carve out your image on it (in reverse of course...), ink it up on a stamp pad, and plop it onto what ever you want to print on--one year we potato printed the upstairs hallway--it needed painting, we figured it could be festive while it waited for us. Jacquie has devoted a few pages to Potato Printing in the brand new SMALL POTATO COOKBOOK. She's got some great examples of potato print masterpieces created by friends of ours. And Merry New Year!
