OK, it’s just a picture of us playing somewhere--a corner in Bobbie's Cafe in Invermere, BC in the Canadian Rockies to be exact. Bobbie's is a little restaurant in a pole barn type building over on the industrial-ish side of town, Invermere not being very large though, its just a short way over to the more tourist-filled side of town. If you look at Invermere on a map it looks quite removed from everywhere but its actually growing rapidly--people from Calgary are building vacation homes...everywhere we go people say their town is growing too fast... But that's not why we brought you here. Back to Bobbie's. It was a small show, rather small crowd but it was a great time. The most interesting event of the evening happened after we were done playing, though. During the show, we had been talking about Barney--you remember Barney from January --Barney told us he needed an Alberta license plate to complete his Canadian Province series so we told him we'd ask around when we were in Canada. Well, after the show some folks came up and asked if they could borrow Jacquie's bodhran wrench. They said they'd be back soon--they were back soon--with an Alberta motorcycle plate. Great!!...except the tag said the plate was still current. They assured us everything was on the up and up but we can't help but think that now we might be wanted in Western Canada... |
