5/5/08

We'd like to post an overdue thank you to Steve King and Johnnie Putman of WGN AM
720 Radio in Chicago. Steve
and Johnnie are the long time
hosts of "Life
After Dark",
the overnight show on WGN.
We've been on their show twice now and had
a truly wonderful time (unlike another overnight AM radio show we did
in New York recently, but we won't talk about that...).
They're great--their show is
great, and eclectic--they don't always have musical guests, but
when
they do, you just might hear Les Paul or Scotty Moore! We're
honored
to be included. AM radio is not dead! If you're up
late or you work nights you really
should tune in.
Festival Season
Begins...
We kicked off festival season with a performance this past weekend at
the Oberlin Folk Festival. Had a great time. We'll be at
both Kerrville
(a
lovely mainstage show right before Kathy Matea!) and Winfield this
year, and several other fests in between. Check the Big Schedule
for
further
developments.
And now for something
completely different...
Jacquie is
once again pleased and proud to announce that... The
Shameless Hussies are BACK! A heaping half dozen of
your favorite Folk
Queens together again in one dazzling, titillating, silly and fun
show. See Jacquie Manning, Tricia Alexander, Diana Laffey, Patti
Ecker
and Kate Moretti as you have never seen them before (but have always
wanted to), as they get in touch with their inner Hussy for an evening
of bawdy and burlesque songs -- punctuated by the spoken word of
Margaret Nelson as MC / Erotic Poet.

This is the 4th time the Hussies have ass
embled and this show promises
to be bigger and better than ever. See the stage of the venerable
Chicago area club, FitzGeralds, transformed into a comfy, neighborhood
bordello --
the pleasures of which you are invited to partake for a mere $10 --
such a deal! The show is, of course, not XXX-rated (we are
FOLK
musicians, after all), but ya probably shouldn't bring the kids.
Here's more information...
See you there.
Dave Morrison...
We've been mentioning it for a while,
but here it is...information on Dave
Morrison's new album, "A
Little Farther Down the Line." Dave wrote two great songs
we've performed and recorded, "Quartzite" and "Hope"--now you can hear
Dave's versions along with a whole album of great songs. Go to www.davemorrisonmusic.com or his
MySpace page.
The Canoe Trip is full!!
We're all full for this year, but hopefully we'll do it
again next summer.
Send us your email...
Even if you think your on our mailing list
already--we've lost a lot of you as you've changed your email over the
years.
See
you soon--
